Ryan Moore and Aidan O’Brien completed a quick double as London City justified favouritism in the concluding Getaway Hotel Dundalk Race & Stay Maiden.

The Justify colt out of dual 1000 Guineas winner Winter showed some promise in two turf outings last year and was prominent throughout in this extended ten-furlong maiden.

The 11/10 shot was ridden to lead early in the straight and kept on well inside the final furlong to beat Ozark Daze by a length and a half. Ephesus a stablemate of the winner, made a pleasing debut keeping on nicely a further length and a quarter away in third.

Moore and O'Brien also took the preceding maiden with Port Fairy

Chris Armstrong representing O'Brien said: "Ryan gave him a lovely ride. They went a nice even gallop throughout.

“He had a good run the first day in the Curragh and then things just didn't go right for him in Tipperary.

“As you can see he's a massive big horse and he's still a baby mentally, he's going to come on mentally and physically.

“He's a horse that we'll take baby steps with and towards the end of the year he could turn into a nice horse.

“He's a typical Justify, he has a great mind on him, a great action and he gets a trip very well.”
