Ryan Moore continued his excellent start to the new season when getting debutant Pearls And Rubies up close home to land the Lynn Lodge Stud Irish EBF Maiden at Navan.

Having slightly missed the break, the former champion jockey gave his mount every chance to find her feet and get into a nice rhythm in mid division in the early stages of the race.

Favourite I Am Invictus who had the benefit of a previous run under his belt, looked the most likely winner when moving on under Colin Keane at the furlong pole.

However, Moore rode an excellent waiting race, tracking the market leader before producing the Ballydoyle trained winner with a well timed challenge to lead close home.

Aidan O'Brien said: "We thought that she was very smart, we had it in our head could she be an Ascot filly.

"Obviously, she needed experience badly. We came here to see if she would be forward enough for Ascot. Ryan rode her accordingly and left her alone and educated her. She could be an Albany filly.

"She has won there and she doesn't even realised she has raced yet. She just kept coming and finished off very strong.

"She's obviously a filly with plenty of class."
