The Curragh has announced that Trainor Stone and Tile have agreed to sponsor a series of two year old maidens during the 2024 racing season - on 26th May, 10th August and 31st August.

The stone and tiling contractor, with offices in Belfast and London, has a portfolio of work throughout Ireland and Britain.

Managing Director Peter Trainor is a keen racing enthusiast and has enjoyed success as an owner in both Ireland & Britain, while he also owned Future History, who ran respectably in the Melbourne Cup having finished third in the Moonee Valley Gold Cup last year.

He said: “I am pleased to support Irish racing through the sponsorship of this exciting series which take place on three very high-profile days, giving us the opportunity to showcase our work to an extensive international audience.

"The maiden races at The Curragh are consistently of the highest quality and hopefully they will produce more future Group 1 winners.”

Diego Velazquez and Matrika were among the winners of the corresponding races last year and both are leading contenders for Classic race success this year.

Evan Arkwright, Racing and Sponsorship Manager at the Curragh, said: “We are delighted to welcome Peter and his team as sponsors for the first time and look forward to a long and positive association.

"The support of Trainor Stone and Tile will ensure we can increase prize money across all three races this year.”
