On outing twelve the transition to fences brought out the best in Silent Approach who shed her maiden tag in the Gerry Comerford Drilling Beginners Chase at Gowran.

Kept wide and to the fore throughout by Danny Mullins, the 10/3 favourite gave the pursuing Noble Blue some hope by taking a little guess over the final couple of fences.

However, once given the office by Mullins from the back of the last the Con O'Keeffe owned/trained and bred five-year-old wasn't long about putting the issue to bed, by six and a half lengths at the line.

The County Waterford-based handler stated: “She deserved that as she’s been placed several times over hurdles including in a Listed race.

“It’s a beautiful family and she will be going to the breeding shed eventually. We’ll see if we try her in a better chase but we’ll enjoy today. Danny did a super job.

“It’s great when you breed them.”
