Moddy Poddle completed her hat-trick with a game front-running performance in the mile rated race at Killarney.

The Sheila Lavery-trained filly was a winner at Galway late last month, following up on her victory at Gowran in mid-June.

She went to post an 11/2 shot this afternoon and Robbie Colgan got her out smartly from a wide draw in 13 to grab the lead after a furlong.

The daughter of Pride Of Dubai proved a willing partner down the straight as she found plenty in the closing stages to post a length-and-three-quarters win. Doolin Dancer finished off well to snatch the runner-up spot late on.

"I thought the handicapper was quite hard on her in Galway but we're still ahead and I think now I'll have to sit down and look, as she deserves a shot at black-type," said Lavery.

"I'll look here and in the UK and see what I can find. That should be her next outing.

"Robbie said when they come to her, she pulls out again and she is very tough and on the improve.

"I'm thrilled for her owner/breeder Denis Maher, in Australia, and she is named after his daughter who loves jumping in muddy puddles."

Children's TV cartoon star Peppa Pig pronounces muddy puddles as 'moddy puddles'.
