SINNDAR RATED HIGHLY

Sinndar has been rated 'a pretty decent Derby winner' by Timeform, following his victory over Sakhee at Epsom on Saturday.

The Halifax-based form experts have allotted a mark of 128 to the John Oxx-trained colt, 1lb higher than the figure given to runaway French Derby winner Holding Court.

Their decision mirrors that of the British Horseracing Board (BHB) and Irish Turf Club handicappers, who have Sinndar on 125 compared to Holding Court's 124.

Timeform handicapper Simon Rowlands said: 'I'm pretty much sticking with the rating of 128 which we gave him straight after the race.

'Our rating is a little bit ahead of the BHB's and it was a pretty good performance by recent standards - although the Derby does not take as much winning as it did in the past.'

Sinndar and Holding Court are set to meet in the Irish Derby at the Curragh on July 2nd, which should provide more proof as to their respective merits.

'Sinndar is 1lb ahead of Holding Court and basically it's the rating of a pretty decent Derby winner,' Rowlands said.

'He should produce a time-figure in the low 120s to back that up.

'In a way Sinndar's performance was just a little bit more solid than Holding Court's.

'The way the race was run suited him, but he may be capable of better as he has only raced five times and has only been beaten once.

'But he has got quite a way to go to get near Montjeu.'

William Hill also favour Sinndar of the two Derby winners, making the colt a 7 to 4 chance to win at the Curragh with Holding Court on 9 to 4 and Epsom runner-up Sakhee 100 to 30.
