STAR TRAVELS WELL ON THE GALLOPS

Martell Grand National favourite Star Traveller did light work today in preparation for Aintree on April 8th and will have his penultimate workout tomorrow morning.

Trainer Henry Daly said: "We just took Star Traveller out to do a couple of canters this morning and he seemed very well in himself.

"He will do a proper piece of work tomorrow and, as we always do, he will work with something else."

Coral reported money for stablemate Edmond on Thursday following the forecast of rain over the weekend but a decision on the gelding's participation is expected on Sunday or Monday.

Meanwhile trainer Alan King is still to find a big-race jockey for last year's National third Call It A Day.

The 10-year-old has yet to find his form this season and finished a distant fifth to Knight Templar at Doncaster last time.

He said: "I hope once we get the final entries we'll get something sorted but there's no need to panic yet.

"He's been disappointing this season but we'll just hope the occasion sparks him up.

"He was travelling very well there in the Becher Chase in November when he tipped up and seemed to be enjoying himself."

Call It A Day is a 33-1 chance for the race with Ladbrokes.
