Urban Oasis bucked the trend of all the way winners when coming through at the furlong pole to go right away and win the Societies Welcome At Gowran Golf Club Handicap.
Jamie Powell, who had been in the saddle when the Johnny Feane trained three-year-old won an apprentices race at the track last time, bided his time in mid division before producing his horse up the rail.
The son of Fast Company showed a very smart turn of foot to go right away and win easily from Rock of Candy and Forgetmenotblue
Winning trainer Johnny Feane said; “He won well again today and Jamie said he was impressive enough.
“We’ll see what the handicapper does and hopefully he will still be in the 0-65 bracket.”
