Aranhill Rascal was left clear to land the extended two mile three handicap chase in Limerick for Stephen Mahon and Denis O'Regan. Sea's Aria moved to the head for affairs for Ricky Doyle on the home bend and appeared to have a big chance, however, he made a mistake at the second last and fell.

Aranhill Rascal was the recipient and he eagerly took full advantage despite being slightly hampered by Sea's Aria fall. He duly popped the final obstacle to win by five and a half lengths at 14/1. He had been as big as 28/1 this morning. Bellgrove (8/1cf) finished second, with another 8/1 co favourite, Line View a further six lengths back in third.

Stephen Mahon said: "I've always thought a little bit of the horse but a few of his owners were trying to get rid of him but I kept my faith in him.

"Through no fault of mine or the horse's, he has got into a few scrapes and it has affected his confidence and his jumping went to pieces at Roscommon the last day.

"I was hoping he'd do what he did today some day and it was a case of getting the ability out of him one day." Not For You the 2/1 favourite, was withdrawn at the start on veterinary advice. This led to a 30 cent in the euro deduction to all bets.
