Atlantic Shore landed the concluding Total Event Rental (QR) Handicap Chase at Punchestown today with his trainer Philip Fenton later pencilling in next month's Grand National Trial at the racecourse as the gelding's next target.

Ridden by jockey Eoin O'Brien, the son of Mahler saw out the 3m1f trip well and in the end held the late challenge of Screaming Colours which came from off the pace, to score a three parts of a length win.

Fenton, having his fifth winner of the season, later reported “he’ll probably come back here for the National Trial next month. Whether he’s good enough for that is another thing but he’s a grand horse.

“He’s a big slow horse and that ground plays to his strengths.”
