Aunty Audrey was another horse to oblige in Tramore after finishing runner-up in the same contest last year.

She was beaten a short head in the mares' handicap hurdle of 2020 and rectified that this evening.

The seven-year-old, in first-time blinkers, battled her way into the lead after two out. The 11/2 chance increased the advantage before the last and jumped it nicely.

She was driven out by Jack Foley to prevail by two and quarter lengths. The places were occupied by Sea The Moon (14/1) and Mater Matuta (25/1).

Trainer Pat Flynn said: "She was second in this last year and we just said we'd put the blinkers on her today to wake her up a bit. She is a little divil.

"The minute she got bustled coming down the hill, that's when she said go! She was deadly and is brave out.

"She is in again tomorrow but is third reserve. If she gets in she will run."

This was the sixth victory of Aunty Audrey's career.
