Ballydunblaze timed her challenge well as she drew for the first time in the mares' maiden hurdle at Limerick.

The 6/1 shot made good headway after the second last to pick off As High Say at the final flight, and scooted home on the run-in under Davy Russell.

She won by two and a half lengths from As High Say at 40/1, with Icostnothing a length further back in third at 50/1.

Davy Russell said: "She has had the two hurdle runs and that was a big help today as it is the tight track on the inside and it is quite tight everywhere.

"I felt she needed to really jump up the back (straight) and again at the last two and then she got the split.

"She had bumper form and then had both runs over hurdles."
