Bottom weight Allez Kal caused a 20/1 upset when gaining her second career win in the Kevin McManus Bookmaker Handicap Hurdle at Cork today.

The daughter of Kalanisi gained her maiden win in a handicap hurdle at Limerick last December and today, under jockey Cathal Landers, bagged a second when beating runner-up Humm Baby by a length.

Afterwards winning trainer Jimmy Barcoe said “her low weight (9st12lbs) made a big difference in that ground.

“This is her first run this season because of the ground; she has won over three miles in the past and it's her second season which is a help.”
