Gold Cup winning trainer Jim Culloty is to leave the training ranks, having had his final runner with Mighty Concorde at Clonmel last month.

Culloty, rider of Best Mate and also a Grand National-winning jockey, trained Lord Windermere to a famous win in the 2014 Cheltenham Gold Cup, which was one of three Cheltenham Festival winners the Cork based trained saddled.

Culloty's final runner Mighty Concorde, for owner Dr Ronan Lambe, finished eighth at Clonmel on June 8 and has since, in company with the similarly owned Lake Takapuna, moved yards to be trained by Robbie McNamara, who sends out both horses to run at Limerick tomorrow.

Culloty, whose last winner as a trainer was Crown Of Gold at Limerick last October, did not speak when contacted for comment.
