The 9/4 favourite Gabbys Cross comfortably landed the www.tramoreraces.ie Maiden Hurdle under Rachael Blackmore.

The first-time hood seemed to do its job as the 5-year-old settled well tracking the leaders before moving through to lead two out. He ran on well to account for Take All (10/1) by six and a half lengths with the well-fancied second favourite Feelgood Island (11/4 ) another length away in third.

The winner was bought for E170,000 after winning a point-to-point at Monksgrange for Bernadette Murphy and is yet another winner to come out of the bumper won by Eric Bloodaxe on Hatton’s Grace Hurdle day at Fairyhouse last year(nine of the sixteen horses who finished behind the winner that day have now won).

Henry de Bromhead’s charge was getting off the mark on his third start over hurdles.

"He was entitled to do that on his point-to-point form and hopefully he can keep progressing now,” said Blackmore.
