Ireland's top jockeys and equestrian stars compete against each other in the inaugural Pro/Celeb Showjumping Challenge at Emerald Equestrian Centre in Meath on Thursday December 16th.

Davy Russell, Joseph O'Brien, Bryan Cooper, Patrick Mullins and Katie Walsh will compete against Olympian event riders Sam Watson and Cathal Daniels alongside top lady riders Elizabeth Power and Susan Fitzpatrick on some of Ireland's leading retrained racehorses.

The event, to celebrate the versatility of ex-racehorses and thoroughbreds, is organised by Treo Eile, Ireland's new organisation set up to encourage the retraining of racehorses.

A Live Stream will be available on their Facebook page @treoeile.

This wonderful night of celebration will also include a parade of ex-racehorses such as Douvan, Faugheen, Sizing John and General Principle.

Refreshments are available on the night and some family fun too, along with an opportunity to meet the teams. A great chance to meet your heroes - with both four legs and two!

The parade starts at 5pm, with the team showjumping at 6pm.

Each team will be captained by a jockey alongside two professional event riders, who will all ride ex-racehorses.

A young rider will complete the team on a speedy pony. Fastest team wins the day.

On the undercard, Clipper Logistics are sponsoring an 80cm class for thoroughbreds and there's also the Overlander Pony Discovery with a great prize fund of €1500. There are also prizes from Connolly's Red Mills, Plus Vital and TRI Equestrian.

Spectator tickets are €10 per family and the main event commences at 5.30pm.
