The Grade Two Daylesford Mares Novices’ Hurdle on day three of the Cheltenham festival is set to be Skyace's next race where she'll bid for a third win in succession.

This one's story takes some beating, bought for a relative pittance out of the leading jumps stable in the land, and going from strength to strength in recent times.

A Euro level stakes investment in the Westerner mare has yielded a 104.50 return for all her career starts after 15/2, 10/1, 66/1 and 28/1 successes. These include Grade Three and Listed wins.

“Skyace is back in about three weeks and is in great form. She will go straight for the Mares Novice at Cheltenham," said trainer John 'Shark' Hanlon.

“She put up between 30 and 40 kilos on her break which is great. She is much stronger than she was when she went out.

“The boys that own her (the Birdinthehand Syndicate) are all in Dubai and are very excited. It’s a dream for them and that syndicate and I’ve sold a further five new horses to syndicates involving the lads and their friends out there.

“To buy a horse for 600 quid and go to Cheltenham with a chance is a dream, and I think she has a live chance.”
