Townend back in action at Clonmel

Champion jockey Paul Townend will return to action after over two months on the sidelines at Clonmel on Thursday where he partners 2019 Irish Grand National winner Burrows Saint for trainer Willie Mullins.

The Saint Des Saints gelding, last seen in action in April when fourth to Minella Times in the Grand National, lines up in the 3m conditions hurdle.

Townend, who injured his shoulder in a fall from Lifetime Ambition at Listowel on Sepetmber 23rd, has ridden 23 winners this season with Darragh O'Keeffe currently on top of the jockeys' standings on 44.
