Robbie Colgan drove That's Just Dandy (6/1) home in a thrilling finish to the seven-furlong maiden in Dundalk.

The pair were headed by Apple Of His Eye approaching the final furlong, but rallied to regain the initiative in the final 100 yards.

Spilt Passon, the 13/8 favourite, then came at them on the inner but failed to catch Patrick Turley's horse by a head. Apple Of His Eye was just a neck further back in third on the outer at 5/1.

Colgan said: “I went along on him the last day in Bellewstown over a mile and probably just the last 100 yards caught him out.

“Today over seven we were fairly confident on the sound surface he'd stay going. He's settling much better with racing as well and he finishes out great.

“We actually thought a lot of him early on but he was doing things wrong, being too keen. He's starting to relax now, do things right and finish off his races. Hopefully he'll be alright.”
