FormscanBy Alan Magee - The ratings suggest this may boil down to BLACK TEARS and Great White Shark with slight preference for the former. The Gordon Elliott-trained mare has shown her best form in big field handicaps winning the Paddy Mullins Mares Handicap Hurdle at the Dublin Racing Festival in Leopardstown 12 months ago and also running a cracker in the Coral Cup at Cheltenham. She was far from disgraced last time behind the smart Concertista in a Grade 3 at the Leopardstown Christmas meeting and hopefully can peak again at this time of the season. Stamina is the forte of Great White Shark who won the Cesarewitch in fine style at Newmarket and can probably be forgiven a below par effort in the Galmoy Hurdle at Gowran Park last month as the ground was extremely testing. Global Equity had Lunar Display almost five lengths behind when the pair filled minor places in the Listed Apple’s Jade Mares Novice Hurdle at Navan on Sunday.
