FormscanBy Tom Weekes - FARCEUR DU LARGE seemed to recover his best old form when winning on reappearance at Downpatrick recently and can win again here. He initially showed good promise when placed in a Listed Bumper on debut in March 2019 and while he ultimately disappointed on subsequent runs, did return with a useful win at Downpatrick. He drops back in trip for this, which isn't ideal, but being a big chasing type, may be able to improve some more and can also improve from that reappearance win. It is interesting Gordon Elliott has declared two useful, and seemingly similar, types for this in One Down and Call Me Lyreen. One Down has proven himself able but is vulnerable to smart types while Call Me Lyreen is unexposed and capable of improvement following his easy win in an ordinary Tramore maiden. On a strict form-line with Fairytale Bliss (third in that Tramore race, fourth behind One Down at Gowran), there isn't much between Elliott's pair. Le Figaro Faoudel was a 125/1 winner at Listowel last month and while that was a lesser contest to this, can improve further and won't be that price today. Snugsborough Hall is a good chaser but burst blood vessels on his latest start and can be expected to progress from this reappearance run.
