FormscanBy Michael Graham - Purple Dawn was a cosy winner at Dundalk on Friday evening and Jake Coen's 7lb claim more than offsets the 6lb penalty. He has an entry in the Irish 2,000 Guineas and certainly looks a horse for next season. This is due to be the slowest ground he has encountered, though, so preference is for CYCLAMEN. Aidan O'Brien's filly didn't trouble the judge in Listed class on her last start over course and distance, however, on her penultimate run she was nearest at the finish in third in a premier nursery on yielding to soft ground at Listowel. A reproduction of that effort would have her on the premises. Her stablemate, Madonnadelrosario, won a nursery at this track in August. She has been highly tried since then and could appreciate this company. It looks like she would prefer better ground, though.
