FormscanBy Donal Murphy - WESTSTREET might be able to take this open contest. A five-time winner in the UK when trained by Oliver Sherwood, the now eleven-year-old ran a fine race to finish fifth on his debut for Gordon Elliott and the CORE Partnership at Limerick earlier this month. He is likely to come on plenty for that outing, which was his first since February. Elliott is also represented by Clondaw Secret, with this son of Court Cave given second preference. Successful on debut in a point-to-point when trained by Mick Goff, he was then sold for 135,000 pounds. He went down by just half a length at Gowran earlier this month and it'll come as little surprise if he manages to go one place better now. Father Jed beat Hoke Colburn by a neck when they clashed at Listowel last month, and they both look to have solid claims. Majurca has been disappointing since arriving from France, but it'll be interesting to see how he fares, fitted with a tongue-strap for the first time. Course and distance winner Envol Pierji (also first-time tongue-strap) is sure to have his supporters, while Shanroe Al C, the enigmatic Clonguile Way and the locally trained Jimli's Island are others that warrant respect.
