Formscan By Tom Weekes - AINGEAL DORCHA was a late-comer to all-weather racing last November but has shown nice course ability in recent times. A dual winner in 2022, the eight-year-old ended a long losing spell here last month and while he is now 6lb higher, can confirm placing with five of today’s same rivals. Eighty Eight and Storm Eric finished third and fourth respectively in that February race and can get involved, while consistent Without Love is now tried in first-time blinkers.

He gave her a peach of a ride - he was very, very good on her. She is usually slow away a little bit and I just told him to take his time. Apprentice race and I knew they would go quick enough. The favourite was on his outside, so we sort of tracked it. He was just so cool on her, he never budged going down the hill. Delighted for the guys, Colm McCourt is head of the Dundalk Racing Club and it is an ex-Mick (Halford) horse. She has been knocking on the door and the handicapper was choking her a little bit. I thought she might struggle, but we had given her a break. She had the month of May out on grass and I think it made a huge difference to her. I think we will have plenty of fun with her before the year is out. She has schooled over hurdles, so she might even appear over one before the year is out. I'd love to get one of those, it is a long time since I had a hurdle winner. We'll see what happens. Sam is after doing very well for me the last couple of weeks. He's a very good kid and does what he is told, he is very cool and has a level head on him. He's good and strong in a finish and I thought he was excellent on her tonight.

I thought he left too much to do at Gowran the other day as he was third-last turning in and met some trouble. The forecast was for rain and I was hoping for some and it didn't come but we took our chance. It worked out well. I always thought he would get that trip and that was his first time over it. We'll keep to 1m2f or 1m4f and hopefully he could go to some of those big handicaps at the back end. He is a lovely big 16.2hh horse and if the owners would let me - they didn't last year, I'd love to jump him. If he was by a top sire at the Derby Sale he would make a fortune.

They have a great work ethic those two horses. Small yard and I've only a handful returned in at the minute, but getting results. Hard work and the little lad there, Liam Byrne, is coming out and giving me a dig out in the mornings, so it is nice to see him here tonight as well.
