The selection has been well held in his starts todate but showed mild encouragement at Roscommon last month and might cope better with today’s easy ground that his rivals, many of whom need good ground. Andyourbirdcansing is a three-time course winner who scored over fences last month. She is clearly in top form but wouldn’t want the ground to become testing. Bowgate Street is an in-form dual course-and-distance winner, who does handle soft ground while veteran Finnians Row is a useful chaser and won over fences in June but hasn’t run over hurdles since August 2022.

We didn't have many runners and we have young horses in the yard. This poor filly should have won at least twice. We just decided we would put her chasing to put a bit of manners on her the last day and she landed on the fourth last below in Wexford. Her jumping today was virtually perfect. Travelled well. We were wondering about the trip, was it a bit short for her? We had 9st 7lb and she's the smallest filly, and I think that helped more than the actual distance. I walked the track last night - I don't know how many other trainers did, but I did. We were happy to run her on it. She did it well. We love her and she has a great pedigree. It is wonderful to win the Boardsmill Stud Mares race because I can safely say, bar the last three years in the last 40, we have supported that place with mares. They are a wonderful stud and wonderful people to deal with. We have about 13 in now. We have a few nice young horses, we are looking forward to it. A few by Poet's Word which we are really excited about.

He won here the last day, same with the mare (Joya Del Mar), and they seem to like it around here. Once he gets his head in front, he seems to enjoy it. That's a big help when you enjoy the place, he seems to like the hills. I fancied him today, so it was great. Maybe so (build upon that elsewhere), but they all love running in Downpatrick!. It is great for the two ladies that own him and stuck by him. He had a few stinking runs, but he seems to be back in form. We'll see what the handicapper does, but we'll keep him going. I knew coming here he was in good nick, though.
