Formscan By Gary Carson - This looks like a nice opportunity for SUPERSUNDAE to bag a win over fences. The Authorized gelding was runner-up in Grade 1 company over hurdles last year. He’s been well held in two runs over fences this season but this is a significantly easier task now. Gaoth Chuil ran well when chasing home Kilbarry Saint in a mares’ contest at Clonmel last month. A similar run should see her play a big role. Pray Tell was a faller on his last chase start but ran well on his debut over fences when chasing home Argento Boy at Punchestown. He’s capable of a big run here.

we rode the horse positively the last day but he was just too keen. He travelled well into the straight then but didn’t get home, so I said to Alex to take his time. He gave him a super ride, was very polished and that’s his first winner for me. He is owned by two publicans from Gorey (John O’Connor and Michael Gleeson) who own two different pubs in the town, so normally they’re in competition. I have great support locally and it is lovely to be getting winners for local people.

this (Maxi Mac Gold) is the horse I fancied more than my other rides today, as he is very very genuine and is such a good ride. I think cheekpieces might actually help him because he is a little lairy although I think it is through greeness. He rides like a classy type of horse and his winter form would put him far superior today. He is a very scopey, very nice horse who does everything well. He always raced behind the bridle and over two-miles it was a problem but over three it is a plus as he switches off really well. He's a horse you'd look forward to jumping a fence with.

It's very tough work and he probably sent him on plenty early today, I was giving out to him the last day for not making enough use of him!. He said he was idling in front and was never going to get beat. He's a big, raw horse and we might put cheek pieces on him the next day. He's very laid-back and you couldn't give him enough work. He's probably more of a chaser than a hurdler, he said when he's right he's good but when he's wrong he has no respect for hurdles. He'll maybe head straight for the Albert Bartlett now.

That is brilliant and he never runs a bad race. I was confident coming here and this horse’s heart is unbelievable. It is lovely to train a horse like this and to win at my local track is mighty. To win a graded race is unbelievable as I only train three horses and am farming. This is a good horse who would have been heard of years ago only for injury. Thankfully things have been good for the last two years and if this was another horse, he mightn’t be in my yard but I know he is good. He’s in (training) nearly 12 months so he could do with a little break.

She travelled really well. I always thought she was capable of being better than she was, so I suppose that is a little bit more like it. She has been consistent, she had one bad run in Navan, but other than that she is running consistently. She stays further and she jumps, she has won twice on the level. Hopefully, she will win again. Billy was always travelling well and it was easy for her then because he was always travelling so well. She got into a great rhythm and he said she travelled into it really easily.

It's great to win, Leopardstown is a special place and I've had a lot of luck here over the years with some very good horses,. She's a good tough little mare, she's owned and bred by Michael Ryan. He had the dam and Harzand is a good stallion. She ran up against Barry's horse (Espanito Bello) at Naas. She's only five and whether she runs at Cheltenham (20/1 for the Pertemps Final with Powers) is a question mark, we have the option now if we want to go.
