Formscan By Gary Carson - All eyes will be on ALBERT EINSTEIN as he makes a surprise appearance in preparation for the 2,000 Guineas. Aidan O’Brien hasn’t been shy about how highly he rates the Wootton Bassett colt, who won both starts early last season. He faces a stiff enough task against some talented older horses but if he’s the star they think he is in Ballydoyle he should come through this test. English raider Ten Bob Tony sets the standard off his mark of 112. He was placed in Group 1 company over this trip in France last October and is a big player on that form. Princess Child, a Group 3 winner last year, handles a cut and is another that is respected.
For three years old and upwards
Weights - 3-y-o 8st 12lbs 4-y-o and up 9st 9lbs. Fillies allowed 5lbs.
Penalties - (to count from 1st April, 2025) Winner of a Listed race or a Group 3 race 3lb extra Of a Group 2 race or a Group 1 race 5lb extra

Quotes on Lord Massusus (IRE)
he got a little bogged down in the ground at the Curragh the first day where seven furlongs probably didn’t suit him either. We expected a better run that day but were very disappointed coming home. We put the hood on and he settled better today: he has been over-racing through his races a little bit. we’ll keep him to Listed and Group 3s here and maybe come back here on Champions Weekend for the Boomerang Stakes. He’ll be a solid horse in all those Listed and Group races here and at the Curragh for the season. We tried him in a Group 1 last year and he’s just not quite that level but he’s very solid at this level and he’s able to carry the penalties. People say he’s effective on soft ground but that was in a nursery and in a conditions race as a two-year-old, but this - and quicker, is his preferred surface.

Quotes on Big Gossey (IRE)
That race is perfect for him as he gets in pretty well. Robert said he was getting a bit lonely in front and picked up again when the other horses were coming at him. He’s mad well and looks terrific. Gary (O’Brien), who led him up, does 90% of the work. He keeps him sweet and just rides him out a few days a week. Racing keeps him happy.

Quotes on Rahmi (IRE)
It’s great, Champions Weekend is a big weekend. Rory is one of my apprentices and he’s been working hard. Thanks to Richard (McNally, owner) and his team this horse came back in good form. He got a bit of a hold-up at the start of the year. I was very happy with his last run, and the plan was always to come here. Seven furlongs suits him well. When the rain came, I thought it would help him. I hope there’s not a golden highway down that outside because I have a few fancied runners later in the day. I said to him to take his medicine (from stall 16), cruise around behind them and get a bit of cover as best you can and then in the straight peel him to the outside. I had four horses and I was shouting for each one of them at different stages.

Quotes on Saracen (FR)
He was impressive, he's a nice colt and had been showing up well at home,. He was going to make his debut a few weeks ago but just had a little setback. He quickened up really smartly there and looks like a smart horse for next season. I'm delighted to have, what potentially looks like, a good horse for Al Shaqab and the team. They've been good supporters of ours. This guy will come back for a Guineas trial in the spring. We were a little bit worried about ground conditions but you have no choice at this time of year. We were hopeful that he'd cope with them but given his pedigree and how he looks I'd expect him to be better on a faster surface. Obviously he'll have no problem going a bit further as well, given his pedigree. He's a smart colt and Dylan said he felt like he has a lot of speed.

Quotes on Princess Child (FR)
If any horse ever deserved to win a stakes race it was her, although you don't always get what you deserve. She met a bit of trouble in-running but hit the line strong and while it was a head-bobber, she had previously come out the wrong side of a few tight finishes in her career. We had been campaigning her aggressively to try and win a stakes race and while she built a load of black-type, to win a group race is great. I'd say it will be a career-best on the figures and I thought she won the hard way. She is a group winner now so it is job done although we might look to win another one now.

Quotes on Albert Einstein (IRE)
He's very quick. We always thought he was really good but since his first run he's got so quick,. Ryan said they felt like they were only hacking, I don't think you could go fast enough in front of him. Ryan taught him a lot. He waited and got him to relax the best he could and when he came out he said he took a minute to engage. He's a very fast horse. The lads said he was rated an eight as a yearling and that's as high as the rating goes. Obviously as regards physique he's very good and obviously he's by Wootton Bassett. He's been very special in everything he's done. He's 540kg, that's a very big horse and he's only a two-year-old. Ryan rode him in the spring and he started learning very quickly. I think his name was changed three times. Every time we named him Sue (Magnier) maybe thought the name wasn't good enough for him. It's a feeling putting those names on those horses and it's a very difficult thing to do. I wasn't sure what his name was as he was changed so many times. We always thought he was very special and that's obviously why Sue called him that. He's very exciting. The plan was to come here and go to the Coventry. I was worried today because it's so windy and he is so sharp mentally but he had to run. We were hoping it was going to be a strong run race, which I thought it was, but Ryan said he would have preferred them to go faster. If everything goes well I think that's what the lads will do but obviously they'll decide all those things the week before Ascot
