Formscan By Mark Nunan - First-time blinkers worked well on STEALTHY TOM at Killarney and he was eased down on the run-in to record a very comfortable success over 2m7f. The handicapper has had his say with an 11lb hike in the ratings but he showed he could handle soft ground last time and can go in again. The fact that the runner-up finished a remote second to Envoi Allen at 200/1 on Saturday shouldn’t be taken literally but, nevertheless, the Yeats 6-year-old is open to plenty more improvement. Three of these rivals were behind the selection at Killarney and Four Country Roads, who kept on for fourth, should go well with a 16lb pull at the weights. Cailean’s Angel was a fair fourth at Galway last time and the three-time hurdle winner is rated 20lb higher in that sphere than her chase mark of 90. Earths Furies is the youngest horse in the line-up and showed more in first-time cheekpieces when chasing home stable companion Carnet de Stage at Downpatrick.
An extended handicap steeplechase for four years old and upwards rated 0-102
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 12st and the minimum weight shall not be less than 9st 12lbs
Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap shall carry 5lb extra for each steeplechase won.
