Permission was given for Roi De France (IRE) , Popmaster (IRE) and Destructive (USA) to wear a red hood to post, for Apiarist (IRE) to go to post early wearing a red hood, and for Nikovo (GB) to be mounted on the course and go to post early.
Approaching the line, the winner Storm Star (GB), lugged left-handed resulting in Roi De France (IRE), placed second, being taken off its line and eased momentarily.
But after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Storm Star (GB).

The Veterinary Officer further reported that a post-race examination during routine testing of Fantastic Fox (GB), unplaced, found the gelding to be stiff.
