We bought him for plenty money (E36,000) as a foal and he is full-brother to a very good horse and is out of a half-sister to Master Minded. We always had good 'meas' on him, having such a good pedigree and if he went to the sales as a three-year-old he'd have cost E70,000, which is too expensive for us. He won his point-to-point very easily and we thought a fair bit of him after that. I was worried they went steady today and that it might turn into a sprint but he stayed on great. he is a lovely horse and is for sale. He'll be a very good hurdler and long-term will be a good chaser as he is a brilliant jumper. There were well touted horses in the race and the favourite (third-placed What's Up Darling) cost £280,000 so hopefully we'll be in that league next Thursday (at Aintree sale). An I.N.H. flat race for four, five and six years old only that have not won a race under any N.H. Rules or Rules of Racing and that have been placed first, second, third or fourth in a maiden Point-To-Point steeplechase since 1st October, 2022
Weights - 4-y-o 11st 6lbs 5 and 6-y-o 12st Mares allowed 7lbs
Riders - Qualified Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules All horses running in this race must hold a current Hunters Certificate. A Hunter Certificate valid in accordance with Rule 78 for the 2022/2023 season for each horse engaged must be registered at the Offices of the I.N.H.S. Committee, The Curragh, Co. Kildare not later than 4th April or the horse will not be qualified to start. The Stewards of the I.N.H.S. Committee have suspended the relevant part of Rule 78 to enable horses which run in this race (excluding the winner) to retain their Hunters Certificate for the remainder of the 2022/2023 season. HRI Directive 10 has been suspended for the purpose of this race and the following procedures for elimination and balloting of horses will apply. (i) The number of declared runners shall be reduced by first balloting those horses that have not won a Point-To-Point steeplechase since 1st October, 2022. (ii) The number of horses declared will be then reduced by balloting those horses that have not won more than one Point-To-Point steeplechase since 1st October, 2022. (iii) In the event of Paragraphs (i) and (ii) not achieving the recommended limit a random ballot will then be applied to the remaining
