The Raceday Stewards interviewed L.P. Dempsey, rider of Combs, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he didn't realise he had gone over the limit and apologised for his action. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3.(g)(frequency) and having taken his clean record into account suspended him for two race days
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Slurricane, trained by Ross O'Sullivan, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
An extended handicap hurdle for three and four years old only that at entry have run at least three times in hurdle races
Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race or hurdle races after calculation of the handicap shall carry any penalty or penalties which may be allotted by the Handicapper.
