Permission was given for Max Mayhem (GB), Teumessias Fox (IRE), Mr Alan (GB), Mount Atlas (GB), Ambiente Amigo (GB), Killybegs Warrior (IRE), Lieber Power (GB) and Calumet (IRE) to wear a red hood to post and for Grey Cuban (GB) to be mounted on the course and to go to post early.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start, involving Balmacara (GB), unplaced, ridden by Charles Bishop, Grey Cuban (GB), unplaced, ridden by Jamie Spencer and Forceful Speed (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Luke Morris.
Bishop was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he had moved his mount right-handed when insufficiently clear, resulting in Spencer having to take a check and Morris having to steady his mount.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after turning into the home straight, in a tightly bunched field, involving Balmacara (GB), unplaced, ridden by Charles Bishop, Forceful Speed (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Luke Morris, Andaleep (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Silvestre De Sousa and Calumet (IRE), placed sixth, ridden by Jack Mitchell.
Pat Cosgrave, the rider of Killybegs Warrior (IRE), unplaced, was interviewed but found not to be involved in the incident.
The Stewards deemed the interference to be accidental as a tiring Balmacara (GB) (GB) dropped back onto an improving Andaleep (IRE), which resulted in Andaleep (IRE) and Calumet (IRE) becoming short for room, unbalanced and caused Grey Cuban (GB)'s quarters to be tuned.
Forceful Speed (IRE) who was racing behind Calumet (IRE) was forced to check off heels by its rider.
