Permission was given for Lesley's Boy (GB) to go early to post.
Just inside the final two furlongs, Licence To Conquer (IRE), unplaced, shifted quickly left-handed, intimidating Lesley's Boy (GB), placed third, off its intended line, which then in turn, caused Stirrup Cup (GB), unplaced, to be moved off its intended line, resulting in Initial Blue (IRE), unplaced, becoming crowded for room, receiving a bump, becoming unbalanced and its rider to take a check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Lesley's Boy (GB).
The winner, Ran Amok (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Nottingham, on 05 July 2025 where the gelding finished ninth of ten runners, beaten by a distance of 10¾ lengths.
Hugo Palmer’s explanation that Ran Amok (IRE) had appreciated a return to slower ground, officially described as Good, Good to Soft in places was noted.
Following the race, Paul Mulrennan reported that Dark Rosa (IRE), placed fifth, was slowly away.
Shane Gray reported that The Vital Spark (GB), unplaced, hung left-handed throughout and the Veterinary Officer reported that the gelding had lost its right-hind shoe.
