He’s a lovely big horse and a real chaser in the making. He has loads of size and scope and he gallops. He’s big and raw and we felt whatever he did today, that he’d improve. He has a good attitude. I didn’t get a schooling hurdle into him which I would have liked, but his jumping improved as the race went on. Darragh was brilliant on him and delighted to get a winner for the Magniers who are fantastic supporters.

I was hoping he'd run well, but we've obviously had a quiet run there recently, so it is nice to get a winner. He really appreciated that ground and the trip. That was lovely. He came forward from his run in Cork,. We had him in at Down Royal on St Stephen’s Day but were a bit worried about the ground, it was on the dry side and he loves the muck. I was delighted to see a drop of rain. Even when it was called off on Saturday, we knew the rain was coming in the early part of the week and it would stand to him. He’s a nice horse, he’s probably designed to be a three-mile staying chaser. He wouldn’t be a flashy horse at home but the further you go, the better he gets. Danny gave him a lovely ride. I’m delighted for Billy, he’s a homebred and has a very good pedigree. He could be exciting for the spring.

That’s great. He’s taken a step forward. He travelled brilliantly and jumped brilliantly and he was gutsy too. He met the second last on the wrong stride and lost a bit of momentum, but he was good and brave. He has surprised us, I thought for a long time he was going to struggle to ever win a race but here we are and he’s after going up a stone. He has enough size and scope to keep improving. He is six and we thought when we got him first, as a five-year-old, that he was well tried from Paul Nicholls but in fairness to him he’s after coming forward.

He rides like a classy type of horse and his winter form would put him far superior today. He is a very scopey, very nice horse who does everything well. He always raced behind the bridle and over two-miles it was a problem but over three it is a plus as he switches off really well. He's a horse you'd look forward to jumping a fence with.

It was a nice performance and a nice pot to win with her. She just seems to handle that ground well and it was nice to get another race with her. If we could find another mares chase like that it would be grand. For a few lengths before the last I thought we were in trouble, but she put it to bed very fast then. Around that trip is fine for her, I’d say, two-and-a-half or two-six.

If you go back to his novice days, he had good form and it was a good performance today, so I’m absolutely delighted with that. He's a real three-miler, he looked to be going as quick as he could but stays very well. He was racing from (4lb) out of the handicap so we claimed off him for that reason. Michael rides out a morning-a-week with us so from a light weight, it was a no-brainer to use him. We'll talk to Noel and Valerie and see about plans, but it was a great pot to win. That will pay for him for the year now.
