Formscan By Tom Weekes - MY MATE ALFIE appears vulnerable to high-class performers but is reliable and finished third in this race last year. Beaten a half-length by Kind Of Blue in last year’s renewal, the selection seemed to progress from that run and can reverse June’s course-and-distance form with Vespertilio, being 7lb better off. Kind Of Blue was slowly away on his June reappearance at Chantilly and then disappointed on the all-weather at Newcastle. A Group 1-winner on testing ground last October, he will be suited by returning to turf but needs to find form. Colin Keane is retained to ride Juddmonte’s Babouche, who disappointed when racing too keenly at Royal Ascot. Bucanero Fuerte is absent since winning in May.
