My Newbrook Rose the last day the ground was very heavy and she didn't act on it at all. I thought she'd run well today as she had a nice run here in a maiden so I was expecting her to step up a bit. That's her first time to run over this trip on the track and I wasn't too worried about it as she'd won over three miles in a point-to-point before. We'll look for something similar. We'll go for another hurdle anyway and she could jump a fence next year.

Shopping Around She can go up in trip and over a fence - we'd slow down Frankel if we got a hold of him so she'll be going further and jumping bigger. She is a lovely mare for lovely people. I hope Jamie never retires, he was brilliant on her and rode her twice in her point to points and won on his second ride on her. He was in our place on Monday morning and said he never felt worse in his life. He said his weight is great at the moment but rang me yesterday to say he was struggling.

Aarons Day We were concerned about the ground. I walked the track earlier and the hurdle course was a good bit better than the chase track so we said we’d run him.

Aarons Day I'm happy with that and he's improving. He's still a big immature type of horse and not that sure of himself. Today has showed us that the penny is dropping with him at least. Before this we weren't sure he knew how to win. Even working at home he'd be going up with horses not as good as himself but was finding it hard to go past them and we were finding it very hard to understand that. We changed a few things with him and brought him away from home and it kind of helped him. He has dropped his head a bit to gallop. Today though when he was coming to the second last and last, he was on his own, and I was thinking he wasn't learning a lot and would he stand up or fall when he jumps the last. Barry gave him a grand ride and he knows him well of course. It's good to get him there and he should learn a bit from that. Mentally and physically he has a good bit of filling out to do. If he stays sound he should be a grand horse jumping fences next season. He's 17-3 so he's big enough. The other thing is that the bit of nice ground helped him. The way he moves and travels that ground helped him.

Andy Dufresne he got beat by a good horse of Paul Nolan’s (Latest Exhibition) the last day in Navan where he probably outstayed us but that was more like it today. Mark (Walsh) said the inside track was tight enough for him here over two miles. He took a bit of organising around the last bend but when he straightened up he jumped the last well. He galloped to the line and has won over two and a half.

Biddy The Boss It was a brilliant round of jumping again and that's what won it for her,. She loves it out there in front. That's Conor last win as a 7lb claimer. She stays well and it all depends what the handicapper does. It'll be something similar again, it's not as if she's a real progressive type. That's the key to her, riding her like that as she jumps so well.

Battleoverdoyen He'll probably come on a bit from the run, he's having a good blow after it,. Davy said the two of them only hacked around and it was like a nice school. He said he only did what he had to do. It's not ideal for the sponsors who put the prize-money up but there is nothing we can do about the ground and that's the way it is. The second horse is a good horse, he's rated 150. I'd imagine he could come back here for the Flogas. He'll be entered in it and we'll see. The way he jumps and travels, he's a real nice horse, he's a big chaser. He'll go on any ground and he's won three times on good ground. I like the way he jumps. The runner-up will probably go for what used to be the four-miler. I was happy with both horses. It's been an unbelievable week. We've had ten winners and four Grade 1s. I went home with my tail between my legs on the first day but that's the way it is.
