Pinatubo He’s a trainer’s dream once you get to know him because he doesn’t excite you in the morning to say the least. We started his career off at Wolverhampton for a reason as we didn’t really know he was in the yard. He’s done nothing but improve with each run. James (Doyle) said he didn’t really travel in the first half of the race at Goodwood, and I said to William this morning 'don’t panic if this horse isn’t travelling with you early as at home he won’t pick the bridle up'. As soon as William gave him a squeeze he soon came back on the bridle and from two down I couldn’t see him get beat. It’s not often you can say that at this level. I gave him a gallop mid-week with some of the nicer two-year-old's trying to give myself a bit of confidence and I probably did the reverse as Royal Crusade put him in his place. He just goes through the motions and the jockey gets off and says he’s moving well. He goes home and eats, drinks, sleeps and that’s the end of it. We only ever see the best of him when he turns up at the track which is a nice position to be in. The way he’s developing as an individual over the last six week has been noticeable. People were questioning whether he would just be a two-year-old but he’s got a nice walk and presence about him. He’s a very exciting horse.

Tarnawa This has been a lucky race for us and Chris gave her a good tactical ride. The plan was to kick for home early as she gets a mile and a half. We’ll see how she comes out of this race and the Fillies And Mares race at Champions day would be a logical progression. She is a filly that I would look forward to training as a four-year-old and she is very adaptable ground wise.

Shamad I'm delighted with him and everything went smooth the whole way through,. We freshened him up a little bit. His last couple of runs were good and the horse that won the last race was behind him when he won in Gowran. He's just got his confidence and he's stepping up and improving, it was a good performance. I'm delighted for Fergal O'Neill of Direct Bloodstock who has a lot of horses in with us at the moment. Fingers crossed we might find something for him in Listowel. He has a handicap mark of 95 over hurdles. Derek gave him a great ride, he's a brilliant rider, and he plays a big part with Fergal because he does all his breakers and pre-trainers. As does James O'Haire, who had this horse and had him schooling over hurdles and everything for us.

Shamad I'm delighted to win with him for Fergal (O'Neill) who is the main man in Direct Bloodstock. I bought him over in Newmarket and he came down to the yard and took the horse off me. He has a lot of horses in training but it's his first winner in Ireland today. He had a winner a couple of weeks ago with Dan Skelton. He'll tip away during the summer and he has a nice mark over hurdles. He'll mix it after a while. He's been plenty busy but he goes on nice ground. He's a fine looking horse and he's actually a great jumper. The whole thing was if we were lucky enough to win with him on the Flat we'd head on over hurdles. More than likely we'll head on over hurdles now and see what happens.

Katiymann He's been a great servant and that's the way he likes to be ridden. A small field, drop him out and he switches off,. It opened like the Red Sea for him, he hand't enough petrol to go around them anyway. He's often run well off a break before. We thought he looked a bit chubby in himself and thought he might need it. Ronan said he just got to the line and gave a heave with him. It's nice to win another one with him. He had a little wind-op and that probably helped him a little bit as well, I'd say it was marginal enough but every little helps. He's fierce genuine but you just have to ride him that way and he often runs into traffic problems in bigger fields. The small field was ideal for him.

Balefire we kept it simple; it was a small field for a nice pot which surprised me a little bit. They are his ideal conditions a mile on that ground and he quickened up and did it well. He’s very consistent, and I had my eye on his race for a while.

Agent Zigzag The horses are running well. They are doing their best and are in good health,. This fella started off the year well and had two good runs, over a mile at Navan which was too short, and then just beaten a couple of heads in Cork at this distance. We decided then to be clever and stretch him out to see if he would be better but that didn't work. I'd say that's his ideal trip and he likes a big track, he has a big stride and is a big horse. We'll keep him to some similar.

Tarnawa It was a good performance by her. I thought she'd be hard to beat today,. She's a tough, genuine and stays well. We'll see how she comes out of the race before making a decision about where she goes next. Epsom may be a possibility. The second is a very good filly and it was a good classic trial but we'll just see how she comes out of the race before making any decision where she goes. It's a lovely race to win. Blue Wind was a very special filly. She did Oaks double for me, she was very impressive when she won the Epsom Oaks and then came back and won at the Curragh for us as well.

Ickworth She's a sharp little filly and I was delighted to see the drying ground all week. I'd say a bit quicker ground would suit her even better. She's very easy to deal with once she gets out on the track. She's a little bit busy at times but she settled lovely and it suited us to get a lead into the race. Everything worked out well and she quickened up well and ran right through the line. Sheikh Mohammed loves to have runners in Royal Ascot and she's going to love the fast ground so if I can just keep her sound until then would be the thing. I don't think she'll run before that.
