Leopardstown Sat, 12th Sep, 2026  Darkness Falls He does everything right. He jumped quickly and travelled very comfortably. We went a good pace early and he was always travelling very easily. It is only his third start and he had a look at the road when we were out wide, so he knows where home is, but he is a very straightforward horse. Loved him. He had a lovely run around here in a maiden and then was very impressive the last day. Obviously, he’s by Camelot which makes him extra special. Ryan said the trip is going to be no problem, a mile and he’s going to get a mile-and-a-quarter next year. He’s just has a lot of class. It’s an unbelievable race to have on here at this time. It’s a lovely first running of it. It’s going to be a very important race and all the good horses were there, all the good type middle-distance horses. I was very impressed and delighted with him. It’ll be hard for a classier Derby-type horse to come out than this, the way he did it the last day and they way he did that today. It was a proper gallop, there was nowhere to hide out there. Ryan eased out with him and he quickened up very well. He has a lovely nature, which makes him really special. He’s very exciting. He’s out of a No Nay Never mare so there is a lot of speed in there but he has the class. I’m delighted to have him. I think he can go anywhere he wants. You can go to America with him at the end if you want, he’s that type of horse. He’s not going to need soft groun

Ballinrobe Fri, 11th Sep, 2026  Carried With Love I don't know how good a race it was, but she jumped well and I'm delighted. She was a nice mare to get and JP (McManus) and Frank (Berry) said to take my time with her. She was good and tough from the last. I've better facilities now and am hoping that a better quality of horse will follow. John Ormonde put in a five-furlong sand and fibre gallop, I've a proper schooling strip over almost three furlongs and another deep woodchip gallop of two furlongs, plus we've built a new barn.

Galway Tue, 8th Sep, 2026  Zadawa She did it well and had run a very good race when finishing second in Cork. She stays well, loves a mile and four furlongs and the Bluebell Stakes at Naas has been on my mind for a while, and today won't change my mind. We'll decide on next year after Naas.

Curragh Sat, 29th Aug, 2026  Darkness Falls He had a lovely run the first day. He's a Camelot with a lot of class. He's a beautiful mover, so ground won't matter to him. When Ryan said ‘go’, it was over very quick. We thought he was good. The maiden he ran in at Leopardstown was a very good race. We thought the second was very good, and the winner was just beaten in the Futurity. He's in the mix for the Golden Fleece at Leopardstown. That's why he ran again today.

Curragh Sat, 29th Aug, 2026  Darkness Falls He had a lovely run the first day. He's a Camelot with a lot of class. He's a beautiful mover, so ground won't matter to him. When Ryan said ‘go’, it was over very quick. We thought he was good. The maiden he ran in at Leopardstown was a very good race. We thought the second was very good, and the winner was just beaten in the Futurity. He's in the mix for the Golden Fleece at Leopardstown. That's why he ran again today.

Kilbeggan Fri, 21st Aug, 2026  Puppet Master He’s a horse that we gave a good few quid for (£78,000) in the autumn and he wasn’t really working out, we had a few issues with him along the way,. He was well dropped in class today. He jumped really well and travelled lovely. I’m not sure how much more was left in the tank, but he’s getting confidence and he got the job done. It’s lovely to get it here at Kilbeggan. He’ll mix it away, he was bought to be a dual-purpose horse. Hopefully he’ll build from that and get confidence. Maybe he’s going to be a nicer horse next spring. We’ll have to give him a chance now. As I said, it wasn’t a straightforward road with him, but with the help of a big team we are getting this lad right and it’s rewarding.

Leopardstown Thu, 6th Aug, 2026  Isaac Newton That's what he was showing us all the time and we weren't believing it. If you see him how he goes through a race, he canters through a race. He is fast. I'd say he'd even come back shorter if we wanted him but I'd say he's a miler. He'll come back here for the Boomerang.

We did think, coming here today, that a mile and a-half around here with a little ease in the ground would suit her really well. Ben said he kept it simple and she won well. She was still a bit green, so hopefully there is more to come. She’ll probably be in a handicap next, today was important - to get that bracket beside her and everyone is happy.

Ballinrobe Mon, 22nd Jun, 2026  Merlin The Wizard I told Dylan to pop out and be handy, and to settle him where he was comfortable, and he gave him a brilliant ride. I was happy watching it, because I knew it was going to be hard for the fancied ones to come from the back. The last day when he won (at Limerick) it turned into a three-furlong sprint and he was tapped for toe a bit, so I wanted him to be handy and that's usually the way to ride them around here. His owners are from Galway and that's the plan for him now. It will be more competitive there, but this was a nice race to win anyway. We just have 10 stables in the yard, and that's as many as I want. Luckily we've managed to find one or two decent horses most years and if they're good enough, I feel I'm good enough to train them.

Limerick Wed, 10th Jun, 2026  Merlin The Wizard The owners decided that we’d go back to a claimer to try and get his head in front and it mightn’t have been the worst race in the world. The trip was obviously a worry, going up to 1m4f, but I thought after the last day, at the Curragh over a mile, he looked to be on his head all the way. Colin said he got the trip no bother there which is great as it opens a few more options. I'm delighted for his owners Lorna Honan and her husband Chris Fennessy, while his other owner Ronnie Quinn didn't make it, as he unfortunately got stuck in traffic.

He let him at it from the word go and set a solid, even, tempo. He got them at it, really, from halfway. When the second horse came to him, he picked up and went again. This is probably his trip, but he’s in the Ulster Derby in a couple of weeks time and it might be worth a crack at that. We’ll see what way the race in Down Royal cuts up, and he might be worth a go at it. If not we’ll find a mile-and-a-quarter handicap for him.

Gowran Park Wed, 20th May, 2026  Earthsong She's a big, strong filly just growing into herself. The more time she got, the better. I had to persuade Kieran (Lawlor, Racing Manager) a little bit to keep going with her and give her a bit of time.
