Clonmel Wed, 16th Sep, 2026  Not Just Any Eagle I fancied him today but some of my horses were under a cloud and there were some with temperatures. I was worried but he was going particularly well. If it was two weeks ago, I'd have said he was a total certainty but this story is the same with a lot of yards this summer. He is a very nice horse and we might go up into a big handicap now. I've won this Tipperary Cup maybe seven or eight times, it could even be nine.

Wexford Sat, 8th Aug, 2026  Harpy Eagle I kind of fancied him today. I thought he ran a bit better than where he finished the last day. He just kind of caught himself too far back but I loved the way he finished out his race. He's been very good since. We were fairly hopeful today that he'd be in the first three anyway. I was hoping he'd run real well. That's the best he has ever jumped and travelled. You'd never know when he's got his head in front, hopefully it's onwards and upwards with him.

Naas Wed, 22nd Jul, 2026  Gotta Catch'em All We have a few(horses) that are alright. The few owners I have are very good. Very loyal. He was second over a mile-and-a-half, I think he was twice over a mile-and-a-half. Twice over a mile-and-two. A mile, seven(furlongs); the dam was the same. No one ever told me they had loads of speed. I just put the blinkers on him one morning and they seemed to light him up and stayed straight. I'd say he'll stay further but we'll keep him at this distance for the time being.

Killarney Thu, 16th Jul, 2026  Lips Freedom That was very good. He’s probably well handicapped on his Flat form and he’s starting to come together,. Donagh was very good on him. He used to be very keen but he’s starting to settle now. We gave him a bit of a break as we were aiming for Galway with him. There is a nice race there on the Saturday, it’s kind of the consolation race for the Galway Hurdle. We had this in mind as it was good timing. He’ll probably come on a little bit for the run, I’d say he got a bit tired there. They put plenty of water on and it’s lovely safe ground. I’m delighted for John (Rowney), he’s a great supporter of ours. I think he’s going to be a nice horse back on the Flat as well. He did it well today and he’s starting to learn. Once he settles he should start to show his ability. He has plenty of pace so I think Galway could suit him. They go hard there and he’ll have the pace, I hope, and the tactical speed to travel.

He deserved that. He was running well, but the handicapper wasn't dropping him either. I think there is more in him. They have stuck with him, good owners and I'm lucky to have them. They are having a bit of fun. There's Dublin, Louth and Roscommon (involved).

Leopardstown Thu, 9th Jul, 2026  Frank Pickle He's been running over one-mile-four, one-mile two. We worked him in the Curragh last week and, he worked so well. Ben just said don't be afraid to come back in trip because he's got tons of speed. He's relaxed now cause he used to not relax. Now that he's relaxed you can actually do something. At this stage I think we can go anywhere with him the way the horse is. Well, maybe not a wee tight track because he is a very good mover with a big stride. Now that he's settled in himself, he's easy to ride. Ben does a great job on him. And the owners are brilliant. They are fantastic owners, the Newells. They are very patient and, he needed patience.
