FormscanBy Tom Weekes - BALLYOISIN may prove best in a competitive small runner field. A free-going type who is best at these short/middle distance trips, he is already a Grade 3 winner and comes here clearly fit and well. Officially he has just 1lb in hand over Doctor Phoenix here but did beat that rival by 3.75L, giving him 6lbs when the pair met previously at Cork in October 2017. Doctor Phoenix himself was making his debut for his new yard in that Cork race and has progressed very well since then. He competed well in smart Grade 2 races last March and April and while he was slightly below his best at Punchestown, his trainer's horses did subsequently develop a virus. One concern today is he lack a recent outing against a race-fit BALLYOISIN. Ordinary World is another smart performer and while he has competed in many top class races, he nonetheless hasn't won a race since October 2016 which is a concern today. Listen Dear takes a step up in grade following her useful runner-up efforts in August and September but does now receive 8lbs from the top two horses. She needs a career best effort to win but does have place claims. Rock The World won the 2017 Grand Annual Chase at Cheltenham but his rating has been on the slide in recent times and is best watched again today.
