21 Remain in JLT Novices Chase

Willie Mullins has left all his big guns in the JLT Novices' Chase at the confirmation stage.

Arkle hopeful Champagne Fever and leading RSA Chase candidate Ballycasey stand their ground along with Felix Yonger, Djakadam, Balnaslow and Mozoltov.

Paul Nicholls has had this race in mind for Wonderful Charm all year, as has Nicky Henderson with Oscar Whisky and both are prominent in the betting.

Jonjo O'Neill's Taquin Du Seuil and Harry Fry's Vukovar are two others towards the top of the ante-post market for what looks a cracking race. Fry has also left in his Arkle hope Rock On Ruby.

Art Of Logistics and Bright New Dawn have been left in by Dessie Hughes while Henry De Bromhead's Sizing Gold has come in for support recently.

Double Ross, Colour Squadron, Caid Du Berlais, Off The Ground and Uxizandre are also among the 21 that remain.

De Bromhead has always held Sizing Gold in high regard and he showed some smart form over hurdles, mixing it with the likes of Don Cossack, Pont Alexandre and Morning Assembly.

The seven-year-old made a smart start to his chasing career at Navan in mid-December, but found Ted Walsh's National Hunt Chase favourite Foxrock too strong in the Grade Two Woodlands Park 100 Club Novice Chase at Naas in January.

De Bromhead feels his charge will be suited by coming back from three to two and a half miles at the Festival.

He said: "He's in good form and yielding ground should be fine. I'm hoping he was just outslogged by Foxrock the last day and that was the reason he got beat."
