Alfred Nobel scores for O'Brien/Murtagh

Sun 28th Jun 2009, 15:37

Aidan O’Brien won The Netjets Railway Group 2 Stakes for the 10th time in 11 years when 6/4 favourite Alfred Nobel ran out a 1 ¼ victor under Johnny Murtagh in the colours of Derrick Smith.

Winning trainer O’Brien said afterwards: “He’s a progressive horse and he comes on from every run. He has plenty of speed and hopefully he’ll get a mile. We will probably come back here for the Phoenix Stakes in a couple of weeks time."

William Hill have quoted Alfred Nobel at 14/1 for the English 2000 Guineas in 2010.
