Allduckornodinner gamely saw off Lilly Geal to regain a winning thread in the Menapia Motors Renault Opportunity Handicap Hurdle in Wexford.

He was strongly challenged over the last by Lilly Geal but eked out more in the closing stages to take the honours by half a length at 5/1.

The runner-up was backed down to 14/1 and she was four lengths in front of the 4/1 favourite Crimson Chief

Assistant trainer Feidhlim Cunningham said: "He is consistent enough, has been running in that low grade all summer and he likes good ground.

"He was a bit disappointing the last day and Gavin (Cromwell) just gave him a break to freshen him up and it worked a treat. Good ground around here around 2m4f on the stiff track suited and Conor (McNamara) gave him a good ride and he was free early-on.

"He is consistent at that level and we'll pick out a similar sort of race and see what the handicapper does."
