All eyes were on Aidan O'Brien's newcomer Peace Envoy in the opening juvenile maiden at Dundalk and the colt didn't disappoint as he strode out well to win.

The favourite, Peace Envoy, was popular with punters as his morning price of 5/4 contracted to 8/11 on the off.

He's from the first crop by new sire Power who landed the Irish 2,000 Guineas in 2012.

Seamie Heffernan had him in fourth upon breaking from the stalls before the pair made good headway on the inner a quarter of a mile from home.

Peace Envoy came to tackle Hugin just outside the furlong marker and forged on in the final furlong. The winning margin was recorded at a length and a quarter from King Electric (8/1) who finished well for second without troubling the winner.

He's quick and a bit green,” Seamie Heffernan said.

“I was always happy that when I asked him he was going to go. The dream is alive with him and you'd have to think Ascot would be on the agenda.”

Pat Keating, travelling head lad, added: “Aidan said he was very happy with him, that he hadn't been away from home and that he could be an Ascot horse.”
