Aidan O'Brien maintained his 100% record with his two juvenile runners at Dundalk today as the Champion Trainer sent out King Neptune to win the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden under his son and Champion Jockey Donnacha O'Brien.
Trainer O'Brien sent out Monarch Of Egypt to win at Naas last weekend and today followed up with King Neptune, a son of War Front who quickened smartly in the closing stages to score a comfortable three and a quarter lengths win over Yesterdayoncemore
O'Brien junior later commented “he was fairly straight forward and professional, not as green as I thought he would be. He bounced out and travelled, quickened up nicely and will be better with another furlong.
“The surface was fine on him. He’s a War Front and it felt good on him.
“It’s firm in places but you can go down five or six inches in other places.”
