Elusive Beauty beats Midnitemudcrabs

Elusive Beauty pounced late to grab Midnitemudcrabs in the €30,000 Irish Stallions Farms EBF (Fillies) Handicap at Gowran.
Midnitemudcrabs was well supported for the seven-furlong contest (33/1 in morning into 7/1) and made a bold bid from the front under Rory Cleary.
Elusive Beauty had been held up in rear but weaved her way through the field down the straight and ran on strongly inside the final furlong, under Shane Foley, to lead close home for a three-parts-of-a-length victory.
The Ken Condon-trained winner (11/2) was making her fourth outing of the season already and had been placed on her previous two runs.
"She is a real advertisement to ownership in Ireland. You can turn up at the races with her and she mightn't win but she usually gives it her best,” said Condon.
“The ground doesn't seem to bother her too much and she is a lovely filly for us and David (owner David Kelly) to have.
“David has had great fun with her and she is very consistent. She has been knocking on the door of late and certainly no one could begrudge her of that win. She is just a pleasure to have around.
“She has been Group 3 placed before, and she will probably mix it between handicaps and trying to get more black-type.
“She looked like she would collect off her mark of 86 for a while and she duly did today. It's a lovely pot to win and we are delighted with that.
“Shane is riding with plenty of confidence. At halfway she was few lengths off them, but he kept her going and she just worked her way into it. "
