Chosen proves the one in Fillies contest
Few Are Chosen produced a game front-running performance to land the Fillies Handicap at Sligo. Ballygologue threw down a strong challenge in the straight and got to the front briefly but Pat Shanahan found more on his mount.
The Tracey Collins-trained filly stuck her head out gamely in the closing stages to record a length success.
"We brought her to Galway for the Topaz Mile but she got no run and Pat looked after her," said Collins.
"Eimear (Mulhern) handed in her licence and very kindly sent her to us. She came to us good condition and a lot of the credit has to go to Eimear.
"She's a very genuine mare and as the rain fell her chance got better as she wants a good cut.
"The main aim is to get her some black-type towards the end of the year as she's a well-bred filly."
