Cillians Charm got a deserved win to his name, as he made all in the Monroe Maiden Hurdle.

Placed three times from six track starts, the Anthony McCann trained six-year-old disappointed when last seen at Doncaster in November.

Sent straight to the front by JJ Slevin, the son of Sageburg wasn't fluent at times but was pushed clear from the second last and was ridden out on the run-in to score by six-and-a-half lengths in the colours of the Hasson Syndicate.

Returned the 10/11 favourite, Yeah Man ran on from off the pace to take second under Keith Donoghue for Gavin Cromwell, while Danada (40/1) put in a fine effort on debut, another length-and-a-quarter back in third.

"We are very happy with him and always thought a lot of him," McCann said.

"He was unlucky the last day here when we bumped into Emmet's (Mullins, ill-fated Halibut) horse and probably was a bit flat in Doncaster.

"We gave him enough time and while he was due to run at Limerick over Christmas, there were two horses coughing in the yard that morning so I didn't take the chance and I'm glad now.

"There is plenty of size about him but is narrow enough. Sharon Kelly spotted him in a point-to-point last year and we bought him from Andy Slattery's.

"He deserved it, he has been bridesmaid for long enough so it is great to get one over the line for the Hasson Syndicate who have been loyal supporters of mine."

STEWARDS REPORT

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Feu Du Bresil (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be showing signs of overheating and had a delayed recovery post race.
