In the frame twice at Naas last month, the 15/8 favourite Coillte Aris opened her account in the second division of the Burke's Clonbur Handicap Hurdle.

Stepping up in trip, the daughter of Soldier Of Fortune was positively ridden by Ricky Doyle who clearly had no doubts about his mount's stamina.

Taking over in front at halfway, she had all of her rivals at full stretch on the run to the final flight and kept on well to score by four and three quarter lengths from Roscomroe

Winning trainer Sonny Carey remarked: "It's grand to win like that. I fancied her the last twice but she's always worked a lot better than she ran.

"Hopefully there might be another one in her and maybe the better ground helped.

"They're a great bunch of lads (I'm Going To No Home Syndicate) from Mullingar and I'm delighted for them."
