He’s Got Rhythm travelled smoothly into the race two furlongs out in the mile handicap and duly scored under Connor King, but not without a fright from The Alarm Clock
The 11/2 shot moved into contention just off pace-setting Cash Or Casualty and then eased ahead of that rival with a furlong and a half to run.
King, landing his ninth career victory, kept him up to his work as The Alarm Clock (7/1) and Conor Hoban flew down the outside to be beaten half a length. Xsquared (7/2) edged out 6/4 favourite Cash Or Casualty for third.
“He jumped well and travelled smartly and I probably got to the front a bit too soon,” seven-pound claimer Connor King commented afterwards.
David Marnane trains the eight-year-old who was winning for the 11th time.
